Richtlijnen ondersteunen professionals om samen met cliënten te beslissen over de best passende hulp. Een richtlijn geeft onderbouwde aanbevelingen op basis van wetenschappelijk onderzoek, praktijkkennis van professionals en ervaringskennis van cliënten. Richtlijnen worden regelmatig aangepast. We adviseren dringend altijd de website te raadplegen voor de meest actuele versies. 

De richtlijn is ontwikkeld door het Nederlands Jeugdinstituut en de Universiteit Utrecht en geautoriseerd door de Beroepsvereniging van Professionals in Sociaal Werk (BPSW), het Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen (NIP) en de Nederlandse Vereniging van Pedagogen en Onderwijskundigen (NVO).

Voor de eerste versie van de richtlijn is begonnen met een knelpuntenanalyse die tot stand is gekomen op basis van twee denksessies met deskundigen begeleid door de Argumentenfabriek. Die analyse heeft geleid tot het vaststellen van drie knelpunten: gevolgen, interventies en samenwerking. Met die drie knelpunten als uitgangspunt is door deskundigen in denksessies en diverse verbeterrondes uiteindelijk een aantal uitgangsvragen geformuleerd die in de richtlijn zijn beantwoord.  

De eerste versie van de richtlijn is gebaseerd op de kennis die tijdens het schrijven beschikbaar was. Vanaf de publicatie van de richtlijn in 2015 zijn in het richtlijnenprogramma continu verbeterpunten en gebruikerservaringen verzameld. Ten behoeve van de herziening van de richtlijn is een panelbijeenkomst georganiseerd.  

Op basis hiervan en op basis van een aantal algemene revisiepunten, zijn de volgende aanpassingswensen benoemd: 

• Meer aandacht voor de stem van het kind.
• Meer aandacht voor beschermende factoren,
• Aandacht voor signaleringsinstrumenten/screeningsinstrumenten.
• Meer aandacht voor het omgaan met complexe scheidingen.
• Update van de algemene adviezen naar leeftijd van kinderen.
• Update van het overzicht van effectieve interventies.
• Meer aandacht voor het samen met kind en ouders beslissen over passende hulp.
• Meer aandacht voor de samenwerking met school.
• Meer aandacht voor een betere toepasbaarheid van de richtlijn binnen de kinder- en jeugdpsychiatrie en hulp voor kinderen met een lvb.
• Verwijzing naar andere richtlijnen. 

Alle verzamelde feedback en de input van het panel is gebruikt om de oorspronkelijke uitgangsvragen aan te passen dan wel aan te vullen.
